Billy Roisz

Sound & video artist

Billy Roisz lives and works in Vienna/Austria. Her ability to translate experimental music into visual memory images is particularly noteworthy, revealing borrowings from minimal art and conceptual art. She specializes in feedback video and video/sound interaction by using monitors, cameras, video mixing desks, synchronators, computer, various electronics and a bass guitar for video and sound generating.

Her music was released on editionsMEGO (solo & skylla) and mikroton (The Elks, cilantro, scuba). Her video works are distributed by sixpackfilm & lightcone. She was co-organizer/programmer of annual REHEAT Festival (2007-2015).

Her current live projects are noisycolors and Bass & TV Dining (solo), RISC (/w dieb13), cilantro (/w Angélica Castelló), The Elks (/w Kai Fagaschinski, Liz Albee, Marta Zapparoli) and kern/roisz (/w ddkern). She has also performed with Toshimaru Nakamura (AVVA), Ilpo Väisänen (ONA), Silvia Fässler (skylla), JD Zazie, Burkhard Stangl, Maja Osojnik, Peter Rehberg, Mario de Vega, Anat Stainberg, Michaela Grill, eRikm, Martin Siewert, Lillevan, Radian and Metamkine – among others.
